E. Szabó László (1954) is a lecturer of theoretical physics and philosophy of science at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. His research is focused on the fundamental problems of physics, especially that of quantummechanics and on the philosophical questions related to physics. Is the world governed by blind contingency – as it is suggested by the main thesises of quantummechanics -, or is it completely determined – as it follows from the thesises of theory of relativity – that is the main question of his book. His work is written for both, the specialists, and the students of physics and philosophy, as well as for everybody interested in these questions.
