Polona Glavan

Polona Glavan (1974) is a novelist, short story writer and translator from English. She is renowned as a keen traveller; and it was her travel experiences that first inspired her to write. Her debut novel Noč v Evropi, (A Night in Europe) describes one of her many journeys, an Inter-Rail trip through Europe, was shortlisted for the Kresnik Award for the best Slovenian novel of the year, while her short story collection Gverilci (Guerillas, 2004) won the Zlata ptica Award for outstanding achievements of young artists.
