After studies of Hungarian and English literature as well as film theory he graduated from the ELTE University in Budapest in 1977. Following a brief career as an English translator and language teacher Laszlo Lugo Lugosi turned to professional photography in 1985.
His major fields have been city landscapes, architectural photography, portraits and travel pictures. In the last few years he has grown a steady interest in the history of 19th century photography and photographers, the reconstruction of their work and their photographs. He also writes regularly on photography for various Hungarian magazines. He is the photographer and author of several books and albums and has exhibited his photographs in his native Hungary and abroad.
