This university textbook on quantum mechanics is meant for use on various levels of teaching. The first two chapters provide a non-technical introduction that can be included in the curriculum of any natural science; chapters 1 to 5 cover an undergraduate course. From chapter 6 on, it is a detailed graduate course for physics majors. Beside standard material, it contains some novel topics like Bell inequalities, Aharonov-Bohm effect and Berry phases, quantum Zeno effect, quantum jump experiments, quantum non-demolition, ion traps, laser cooling, theory of environment-induced decoherence, and a short overview of basic theoretical and experimental approaches to quantum information.
